Disco Redux
For starters, the HB-1502u does not have anywhere near 1500 watts of power. It's actually rated about 70w/ch and sounds more like a good 50w/ch Tripath amp. From the description, it also seems this would be a class D amp but the large toroidal transformer suggests otherwise.
The receiver is surprisingly well made for the price. The case alone is worth half the cost of the unit and the speaker binding posts for the main a/b speakers are a rare but welcome feature at this price level. Interestingly, the fan is a very quiet variable speed unit. It seems to be the only hybrid part of the unit since it works both by thermal switch and a button on the remote (which is actually a high/low switch, not on/off).
The remote is average for this price level. It controls nearly all the functions on the unit and fortunately, there are no controls on the remote that are not duplicated on the front panel. Batteries are not included (2 AAA).

So Far So Good
I purchased this for the primary reason of powering my backyard movie theater. I'm running four Bose speakers outside and this tuner/amp works great. This unit is NOT made for an indoor surround sound system, although you could use it that way. Once you push the volume above 30, the fan kicks on and it could be noisy for a home theater system.

There has been no problems for me whatsoever. I received the amp, easily hooked it right up and it played beautifully. No negative comments.
