Home theatre installations typically involve five loudspeakers, a subwoofer or two, and lots of speaker wire. Not every room can accommodate all that stuff - and not everyone wants to live with it. As a far simpler, more elegant solution, the Harman Kardon SB 30 home theatre sound bar system offers a single wireless subwoofer combined with an extremely advanced loudspeaker that connects directly to your TV, DVD, Blu-ray Disc player or game console. Where the SB 30 primarily differs from its predecessors is in terms of its ultra-new and exclusive HARMAN Wave surround-mode technology - which ultimately delivers a compelling surround-sound experience from 13 transducers fed by 11 amplified channels. A classic overachiever, the sleek SB 30 sound bar exceeds expectations, delivering immersive, peak-performance sound for your films, TV shows and games. All from a system you barely know is there.
With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.

Twice a lemon & terrible customer service
I'm a self proclaimed audiophile faced with a problem of not being able to run wires to rear speakers or a sub in my new apartment setup. So I did my research and thought I was making a sound decision to purchase the SB-30. At first, it seemed like a decent system. My one gripe was the remote and not being able to tell what level it was on but I was able to look past it.
Fast forward 2 months...in the middle of watching TV the sound bar starts popping and cracking until it finally just dies. I checked all the inputs and nothing would make it work. Definitely strange considering I barely used the system.
So I call customer service, which made waiting at the DMV seem like a pleasurable experience. I'm directed to fax in my complaint and I follow up to confirm they received it; I'm told I would hear back from them in a few days via email on the next steps. So I do as directed and I wait, wait, wait...nothing. So I call back to inquire on the status and I'm told they...

Great Sound - Clean Design
The Harman Kardon SB30 sound system is a great solution for those thin panel TVs with a great picture and poor sound. I considered a number of alternatives from Bose, Boston Acoustics and Polk audio before settling on the SB30. The SB30 offers very solid performance at a price point that is less then half the cost of a Bose 1SR. The sound is very good, the bass very strong, with the system being aesthetically pleasing. The design is reserved without a manufacturers gaudy logo plastered on the components. The SB30 also integrates easily with a DirecTV remote.
Great sound!
I have a living room that's separate from my theater room, and I didn't want to install an elaborate surround sound system in the living, but I also didn't want to stick with the factory speaker from the TV, which to be nice, is underwhelming. I've had my eye on a soundbar for a while and decided on this one. Now, it doesn't touch my Klipsch Reference series 5.1 setup in the theater room, and really nor should it. But its sound fills my 20x20 living with ease.
For those who are experiencing crackling with the subwoofer, I've experienced the same, but it's only when other Wifi devices are in use in the general vicinity. I also have experienced wifi network interference while using the SB 30 -- network performance degradation, connection dropouts etc. And while this is happening, there's random crackling from the subwoofer. Once I shut the laptop/wifi devices off, the crackling stops. I'm guessing the soundbar communicates with the subwoofer over a channel somewhere in...
