Basic and functional
I purchased these stands for a set of Sony Bookshelf speakers, 9wx9dx20h. I anchored the speakers to the stand using the existing corner holes on the speaker rest. Put some noise dampening material between the speakers and the stand to avoid vibrations and they seem pretty stable at the lower end of their extension. There is no way to hide wires on these stands, I currently have wire wrapped around the pole portion like a candy cane then the wires go into my floor. The stands have rubber feet and they stand up pretty straight and that I'm happy about. Looks like you could change out the rubber feet to spikes if need be, but that is something I'm not interested in as they sit on a hardwood floor. For the price I can't complain, if you have a budget and don't mind exposed wires or if you feel like drilling the pipe then these might be the stands for you. Would I like something better?... yes, do I feel the need to spend the extra money for them?... no.

A steal for the price!
I agonized over these or spending about 3 times as much and reluctantly took the plunge. I am glad I did, these are great stands, very stable, easy to adjust and aren't ugly.
One thing to note (for super-audiophiles), the feed have rubber knobs, not spikes. This would be easy to swap out, but just worth noting for the folks who care.

Speaker stands
Well these seem well constructed and fill the bill for me. Now about the plug in the bottom of the top tube. I found if You loosen the lockdown screw and partially extend the stand then give it a good pop to full open the plug falls out of the bottom. Then You can feed the wire thru the stand no problem. I tried it with all 4 of my stands, and everyone of them popped out no problem. Give it a try it was easy.
