Jamo S 426 HCS 3 WENGE 5-Piece Home Theater System (Wenge)
In the established Jamo tradition, these speakers out-perform virtually every competitor in this price range. Thanks to a carefully balanced engineering effort, these speakers offer both good looks and sound quality rarely heard from speakers in this class. The Jamo S 426 has dual woofers in a reflex-optimized enclosure and a low-resonance tweeter with a Jamo Waveguide. The result is a punchy, yet refined and detailed sound that will make movies and music enjoyable. Adding the Jamo S 420 Center and the Jamo S 420 Surround will create a first-rate surround system and, thanks to the terrific versatility in terms of placement (both comes with wall bracket), these speakers will not clutter the living room. With our exclusive stylish, contemporary industrial design, these speakers easily blend into modern living rooms.
With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.

For those that do not know
These speakers are manufactured by Klipsch. A simple google search will reveal this. You should expect Klipsch quality behind them as they are a very reputable brand name. Additionally, these speakers ARE 6OHM and as such you WILL have to setup your receiver for the 6OHM speakers. This isn't a big deal depending on your receiver, but it does explain why some people are so ignorantly unhappy with them. Receivers are almost always set to default at 8OHMs for speakers. You need to look in your manual on how to set your receiver for 6OHMs, at 8OHMs these speakers are not getting the appropriate amount of power they need. These are in fact good quality speakers especially for the money. I love the sound.

Speakers have arrived and wow they are heavy. The picture makes them look grey, but they are actually near black with a brownish grain to them. I think they look way better than the picture makes them look. If you have doubts about how the quality seems, don't. Speakers...

Decent starter system
Jamo and Energy are owned by Klipsch USA. The speakers are made in China on a Klipsch design. This is a budget system, and a really low price for a set that includes floorstanding speakers. So, one does not expect more than a budget system.
The Sound: they don't handle bass all that well, of course, a subwoofer would be an absolute necessity. They do however sound crisp in the mids and highs. Dialogue is a bit tinny, but so it would be with just about any small center channel.
Features: really well packaged. Has banana plug connections which is nice for the price. (check Monoprice.com for plugs).
Synopsis, decent sound for a budget system. Let's be honest, you aren't going to buy these if you are an audiophile, or even a part-time enthusiast, but for the masses, it's really a good deal. If you are looking at these there is only one reason, to find a cheap system that has floorstanding speakers. At the price, you will not go wrong. They are Perfect for the casual movie...
A review from an actual owner
I've had these speakers since February 2011. I purchased them as a package with an Onkyo TX-NR708 from another vendor, but I can tell you that if you pair these with a quality subwoofer, use quality 12-16 gauge speaker wire and interconnects, I can't imagine anyone being unhappy with the results. On the other hand, if you aren't using quality components and don't configure your receiver correctly, then I can see how you might not be impressed. These absolutely need a subwoofer though. I am running a HSU Research VTF-2 MK3 subwoofer, and Jamo A 340's for rear satellites so I have 7.1. You have to be careful when adding other speakers with this set because they have a nominal impedance of 6 ohms vs. the majority of home theater speakers which are 8 ohms. Also, make sure your amp/receiver can support driving 6 ohm speakers as not all do.

The bottom line is, if you are looking to build a nice theater system, you will not be disappointed with these as long as your equipment is...
