Great Sub
Bought this subwoofer as part of a replacement set to replace my Bose Acoustimass 10 set. Even though it sports a 10" woofer, it is relatively small in size than I expected. It has a Low Frequency Effect (LFE) in as well as line level inputs in case your receiver does not have a LFE out. There is a power on and off switch on the back and the power cord detaches from the unit making storage and transport easier. Included is a variable crossover selector on the back as well. On the side is a rotary volume knob (placement may be a problem if you place your sub in a tight corner or location). The design of this subwoofer is great, nothing fancy that draws attention in you home decor. It is an acoustic suspension system with a passive radiator which works in tandem with woofer.

The audio sound is great! Tight, precise, and will provided that sonic vibration associated with a theater experience. It also blends seamlessly with the Pro 800 speakers and pro 1000 center...

I recently returned a Klipsch XP300d to trade for this DefTech Sub 1000. The difference was night and day in the sound quality. The Klipsch, though only 8", could rock the walls, but sounded muddled with little sound definition. The DefTech has clean distinct base sound that makes the music experience seem just like being there. Crank this baby up and it will pound the floor with its passive radiator, and send low frequency sound straight your ear, enough to force you to cut the volume back. Base guitars, drums etc. will definitely sound realistic and believable with this sub. You will enjoy this unit. Only disadvantage is no power switch. Sorry, but I just do not trust auto power-off features. I prefer to control the power to my equipment with my own hands.
Awesome Sub! I would highly recommend
I bought this after months of looking and researching. I wanted to make certain I had a sub that could make the house rumble and shake and scare you during movies. I had some large JBL HLS 820's and no sub and they did a wonderful job. I just wanted to downsize my speakers to get that clean look so I bought 2 Definitive Technologies ProMonitor 1000's for the front channel so I needed a sub. This sub is perfect. It took me a short time to get things wired and setup correct but after that it sounds awesome. It can get scary loud to and I would say it outperforms my old JBL's. My room is approximately 12ft wide by 24feet long and it does a great job. I have it wired to my Pioneer 1019ah. When I was shopping I wanted to make sure I had the quality I wanted without overbuying. I was looking at the ProSub 800's and the Super Cubes so I went with this one as it was in between. I am very happen with my choice.

great bargain receiver
I did a lot of research (including Consumer Reports) and settled on this Onkyo as the best compromise between performance and price. I've had it 2 weeks now and am very happy.

The auto setup function works better than a much-more expensive Denon unit I set up for a friend. I used the microphone (included) to measure speaker levels at 3 different locations in the room and the Onkyo did everything else. (It's connected to some older Polk speakers-- they sound so much better through this amp!)

I bought this primarily to process audio from our new BluRay player and the Onkyo does an outstanding job. The sound is better than in most movie theaters! Especially BluRay DTS or HD Master. Wish more movies were recorded in these formats.

We also have our DirecTV HD DVR hooked up to the Onkyo. Audio and video travel through the HDMI Cables, so there's no need to hook up audio separately. Very nice and a feature you will find missing from some more...

Good but not ideal for a variety of components
I am replacing my 17 year old Onkyo receiver and bought this after a bit of research. Much improved over the years and sounds better than the old unit. I love the sound and the easy setup. The instruction manual is great.

I have a variety of components, some HDMI, some composite video, some digital video, etc. As mentioned in other reviews, this unit will only output the same format that is input. This means that if you have composite video in, you will need to output composite video. For my situation, this meant a variety of output cables and additional button pressing when switching between components (e.g. cable box to DVD player).

Considering the cost of cables, I decided to go with the TX-SR607 because it converts all inputs to HDMI output. This means no adjustments to the TV input when switching components and no additional cables. Wish I knew this before I ordered the product and thought I would share my experience.

Great reciever, easy setup, less cables
Just got this TX-SR507 set up.

Here are some initial impressions. The setup is very easy and fast. Had all the connections complete in less than 15 minutes. Despite some misinformation out there this receiever is not HDMI passthrough for audio. Instead it has HDMI repeater technology. This is way way better than pass through. What this HDMI repeater technology allows you to do is to run a SINGLE HDMI cable from each source (cable box, blueray, dvd player, roku box, or any other device that has hdmi out) to the reciever (you can hook up all the items into this as its loaded with HDMI inputs. From the receiver you run a SINGLE HDMI cable to your TV. Meanwhile the audio is processed by the reciever and sent out to your surround sound system. No additional toslink or analog cables needed. This feature alone is worth the extra to buy this unit. If it was only HDMI passthrough you would need to run separate cables for your surround sound in addition to the HDMI to get your audio...

Great system, with a couple exceptions
I own a new 40" Sony Bravia LCD that I hooked this system up to. I was very impressed with its sound and its wide range of features for the price! However, there were a couple areas that I feel need to be addressed.

PROS:
- Excellent sound, especially the Movie DCS mode which adds a ton of depth to any movie
- Easy setup
- Excellent integration with a Sony TV. I can fully control my LCD from the receiver remote after hooking up the HDMI cables.
- Full HDMI switching makes initial connection and switching between sources a snap. I can switch between cable and my PS3 with 1 button.
- Wide range of format handling, including Linear PCM.
- Wide range of sound modes.
- No color distortion issues when switching between HDMI sources. This seemed to be a problem in older models.

CONS:
- I found the bass to be a little lacking due to the fact that the subwoofer is passive. I swapped the included one out with this:...

Just about perfect except for HDMI and center speaker issues
As someone who was in the process of purchasing my first blu-ray player I was looking to upgrade my older Sony surround sound system as well. I was looking for a couple of things in a new system: One, that it had plenty of HDMI inputs and two, that it had a high-quality sound for the price point.

As for the most important item, the sound, this is a great system. People have said it is like listening to a $500-1000 system. I don't know if it sounds as good as a $1000 system, but I would say it does sound wonderful like a $500-700 system so for the price it can't be beat. The highs sound very clear and crisp and the bass is deep with depth without losing too much 'punch' or getting too 'muddy'. The only minor issue I have with sound is that when dialogue gets loud the center speaker (on rare occasions) 'flinches' and has the slightest sound like feedback. It could be the case itself vibrating as I have it sitting against the T.V. base/stand so this could be the problem as...
Great sound, good price and easy set up.
When I recently bought a new Sony 40" LCD TV I discovered the TV speakers were better than my old cheapie surround sound system. I then bought this Sony HTSS360. I'm a long way from an audio expert but I know good sound when I hear it and this system has it all the way from the high to the low pitched sounds. I can now hear even faint sounds/sound effects I never knew existed with my old sound system. Between the new TV and this surround sound system all my existing DVD's are like watching all new movies. It may be a little on the subjective side but my movies appear to have better color and clarity than when the feed was direct from my DVD player. Very easy to set up and play using one remote with the Bravia Sync. In my case just two HDMI cables, sat box and DVD player, to the receiver and one HDMI out to the TV, easy.

Theater Immersion Experience
I am using these Klipsch RS-52 on sides along with Klipsch RC-62 Center, RB-61 Fronts, Synergy S1 front highs & backs with a still working superbly 10yr old Definitive Technology 12" 700watt Sub Woofer and a new Onkyo NR807 Receiver for a 9.1 setup in a 22' X 12' living room setup system longways.

The RS-52 picks up all kinds of sound effects watching movies that would by comparison have a muffled & stifled sound with just a ordinary 'surround back' type speakers. Works excellent watching Football, Hockey, etc. I was given a demo of the RS-42 at a local electronics retailer but they did not have those in stock and gave me the RS-52 at the RS-42 price (one lucky day). The RS-52 have 5 1/4" woofers, RS-62 have 6 1/2" woofers and RS-42 have 4" woofers. The difference between the models for the sides is basically the BOOM & SPATIAL EFFECT especially watching movies and Music DVD Concerts depending how you set your audio setting on your receiver. well, let me say that i dont usually write reviews,but i love when other people do and find their info very good,so im gonna start writing some,please remember that im just a regular guy,im not a professional audiophile,these surrounds are simply a miracle,great sound,i was (and my son)in total shock when i hooked these up and heard them,i have never heard such good sounding surrounds,very clear and no distortion,these things really deliver,i had to actually go in my receiver settings and turn them down cuz they were over powering my fronts (which im replacing next week)the design is fantastic,you can hear them from anywhere in the room,i did alot of research b4 i bought these,i was concerned about the size and weight,and that i could not find speaker mounts for these things,but dont let that scare you,they have a mount in the back,just put in a good screw in the stud and they will b fine,and the size,they really dont look as huge as the dimensions cuz they are v-shaped and the back...

Crystal Clear
I recently had to change my surround sound set up due to placement of a new flat screen. I purchased the Mythos Seven to replace my Klipsch C2 center channel speaker. I was very impressed with the overall sound quality and the clarity of voices. At times with my old set up voices were hard to hear depending on what was going on in the movie. With the Mythos center I have not had this problem. Also, the size of the speaker was great with my set up. The speaker was small enough to fit on my mantle underneath the TV. I was so impressed with the speakers that I have decided to purchase the Mythos five to compliment the center.

Definitive Delivers Again!
I needed a low-profile center channel to replace my bulkier DefTech older speaker (ProCenter100) and chose this one based on price and dimensions.

I had no worries about choosing DefTech again b/c I have owned a 5.1 sytem from them since 2000, and have been absolutely satisfied since day one! They also just recently sent me replacement parts at no cost to fix a damaged satellite speaker and the process was exceptional with their customer service department!

Let's face it - If you love GREAT sound and service you can brag about to your friends who aren't audiophile nerds, and you yourself are as close to an audiophile nerd as I am, don't blow your money on other systems/speakers. Excellent option for Blu-Ray and HD-DVD
I could have not been more pleased with these speakers. I first listened to them at a local frys electronics and the range and depth just simply amazed me. Not to mention this is a steal on the ES90, thanks amazon! The ES80 is slightly watered down version are going for $50 more currently. I was able to find deals on pretty much a complete set of the ES series speakers here on amazon.

Together the set provides a complete range of sounds that pretty much covers all ranges of audio from music to HD surround sound formats. I highly recommend any speaker in this series. As always I reccomend that you hear them first as not everyones ears are as finely tuned as some. :)

Midrange Is Too Strong
See 3/19/2010 update below.

I'll start by saying that my 3 rating would be about a 7 on a 1 to 10 scale. Based on the overly strong midrange and the fact that JBL is having this speaker built in China, I can't give this a 4 out of 5.

Fit, finish, and appearance on this speaker is somewhat mixed. The front panel veneer is attractive and rolls to the top panel via the beveled edge at the top front. The front panel is made of MDF and appears to be either 3/4 or 1 inch thick. It sounds very solid when rapped with your knuckle. (This is a simple and quick test I would recommend for any speaker.) In general the front of the speaker looks very good.

The side panels are thinner MDF and have a plain black veneer with a fine texture. I can't tell whether they are 1/2 or 5/8 inch thick. The entire cabinet tapers from front to back, with the back only measuring 7 1/2 inches wide vs. 10 1/4 at the front. This tapered design isn't my first choice, but...
Big speakers, big sound
If you're used to your typical bookshelf or home-theater-in-a-box speakers, you might be surprised at the size of these. Those woofers are bigger than most small system subwoofers. And there are two of them.

The sound is great, and plenty loud for a medium sized room. The legs work great on a hardwood floor, with no vibration noise coming from them. Overall, they feel stable and aren't likely to fall over.

Color was a bit more on the grey side than I had expected, but looks nice. They match the surrounds/bookshelf speakers well.

Not shown is the cover that covers all of the elements, but not the bottom. This looks nice and is black, but isn't clear from the image.

Excellent surround sound speakers
These are great speakers. The Klipsch Reference series is not like the Klipsch Synergy series. The reference series are mid to high end home entertainment speakers that you have to get through an authorized dealer.

They are very well made with great components. These bipole speakers are wired in phase so both speakers output sound simultaneously. The back of the speakers have a hole to mount them on the wall. I am using two of these as my rear surround channel. The audio reproduction is better then any speaker I have ever owned. The speakers are very efficient and require little volume to get full sound. The clarity of music and movies is almost like you are in the room with the musicians/actors. I put in the Nirvana Unplugged in New York DVD and was saying to myself, wow, Kurt's vocals and acoustic guitar is so clear. I couldn't believe it. Amazing Clarity
I finally completed my piece-by-piece home theater upgrade with the Klipsch RS-42 surround speakers and I couldn't be happier. The sound quality is amazing. I've actually caught myself looking around the room from time to time as sounds from my Blu-Ray movie move about the room. You forget you're listening to a movie!

Great sound, room filling
First off, these surrounds aren't small. They're a little bigger than a size 12 pack. The seller says they weigh 9.9lbs but on the Klipsch website it says that they weigh 11.9. Could make a big difference if you are planning on hanging them on the wall/ceiling. I hung mine from the ceiling and went with a 20lb rated hanger. As for sound quality they sound great. Do a very good immersing the listener in full surround sound, picks up a lot of things that I never heard on some shows that I have seen before. The dual 4" woofers and 1" tweeters were my deciding factor over the RS-41's after i heard them in the store. Worth the extra money in my opinion. Would definitely consider these to go to 7.1

Great Subwoofer
I am a frequent poster over at the AVSForum and most people in their will absolutely tell you that HSU, SVS, etc. are better subs than Klipsch. While that may be true, there are some of us that support our local B&M stores or prefer the convenience of being able to get in the car and return it and be back out the door with a new one within an hour. I am one of those people who likes the ease of B&M stores.

Initially I had a Martin Logan Dynamo 500 and it sounded great, except for the fact that it couldn't get the couch shaking before bottoming out. The ML was very musical, but for Home Theater use it just didn't do the trick. My BluRay test for subwoofer extension is the pixar shorts, Jack Jack Attack (where the baby does CAMPFIRE) and Lifted (where the man is first being lifted before he bumps into the wall). The ML made clapping noises during both of these scenes which clued me in that this wasn't the sub for me.

Awesome subwoofer.
I purchased two of these subwoofers to complete a 7.2 setup. I play Call of Duty and wanted enough speaker power to crack heads. When a grenade blows up next to me, I want to feel it! Musician's stamp of approval
For anyone in a hurry, I'll begin at the end: the DefTech 800s are an excellent value. And great little speakers regardless of price. I bought a pair for a 2.1 music setup, which doubles as a simple HT system. Coupled with a low-end Velodyne sub (VX-10) and 100-watt per channel amp (JVC RX-5060), the 800s' sound is so pure and musical that I find myself working through my CD collection just to hear how good most things sound, especially the acoustic stuff. Always a good sign.

I've been a musician for 30 years and needed to go small to fit into a tastefully furnished living room. I read a lot, listened a lot, and found myself wanting DefTech 1000s (the next level up) but not able to handle their larger physical size. I tried a slightly smaller model from another prominent manufacturer but wasn't happy with the tiny sound. Exceptional Speakers for Both Size and Price
These speakers are really something special. I was looking to replace my front speakers in a 5.1 setup and really needed something that could cross well with my center channel and ML subwoofer while still maintaining a small footprint. This was no easy task, and after about a week of searching I thought I was out of luck. Then I found the definitive pro monitor series.

For the size these speakers have a great frequency response. Rated down to 57hz(I will discuss this more below) these are perfect for an 80hz crossover in a home theater application. Since size was one of my concerns(and unfortunately a need)these speakers were a no brainer considering most of the competition satellite speakers cannot touch frequency ranges lower than 100hz. Cabinet build is very solid with a nice, esthetically pleasing design. These speakers contain a 4.5" woofer coupled to a passive radiator(which allows the speaker to produce lower frequency ranges in a small enclosure)as well as a 1" dome...
Better Than Bose
I recently sold my house and included my Bose Acoustimass 10 speaker system with the media room. I researched for many days and even considered buying another Bose set. After looking at CNET reviews (Bose was not listed in the top 10), I decided to buy the Pro Cinema 800 set. But instead of the 8" subwoofer I bought the 10" subwoofer. I bought all the speakers seperately (no cost savings buying the package) including my 10" Definitive subwoofer. None better, damn few as good!
I have the Klipsch RB-81's in the family room (loved them) and recently put the RB-51's in the den where I have an XBOX-360 set up with an LED projector and screen. One can debate speakers all day but I like these because they are sensitive & crisp which means I can use a small amplifier (such as the Temple Audio Bantam Gold) that fits right in the bookcase with the speakers. Great for gaming and playing music CDs through the XBOX. When I say crisp I mean the highs are fully defined - great for my old ears that don't do highs well. I can also hear movie dialog over the, often excessive, background music/noise. I have to add that I ordered the lower priced RB-51's but got the latest RB-51 II's - not bad for a gentile, huh? Seriously, it's hard to go wrong with the Klipsch reference series and you're supporting a company right here in the heartland USA. Carry on, soldiers ....

These are the speakers you're looking for
I am a musician, and the quality of the music I listen to is very very important to me. I had been researching bookshelf speakers for months before deciding on these. In my local audio specialty store's listening room, I was able to do a side by side comparison with a pair of Def Tech AW 6500s, and the Klipsch had a much warmer, pleasant, golden tone. Nothing muddy, nothing harsh or tinny, nothing blurred. I tried them with a subwoofer and then without, and honestly the bass in the speakers alone is powerful enough. Unless you want a really enormous sound, or you're filling a party venue for many people, the bass in these is more than enough. My living room is 350 sq. ft. with 14 foot ceilings, and these handle the size just fine. They also perform quite nicely with my mid-size 1980s-era Realistic 300-watt amp.

I have the Klipsch RB-51 II bookshelf speakers set up in my medium sized office. They are paired to an Onkyo TX-8050 for a variety of music sources.

I wanted a quality set of speakers that sound excellent at a lower volume and these have more than fit the bill. These will rock a room if you want them to but for my application I was less interested in loud and more interested in sound quality.

This is my first experience with horn loaded speakers and I am very pleased. Their sound is very full and clear at any volume. The RB-51 II's highs are very crisp and clear. The mids are articulate and non-fatiguing and their low end is full without being muddy. These are superb for my 2 channel audio setup and I see absolutely no need for a subwoofer. They fill a room with music very well and I can listen to them all day long.

If I were to pick a down side to the RB-51 II's it would be the rear firing port...

Pleasing but expensive
These do sound terrific and have an interesting design. They are a significant improvement over the HTiB speakers I had before.

However, they're also quite a bit larger than I expected, keeping them from 'vanishing' into the visual space the way one might want them to; the pictures here really belie their size. And I think they're quite expensive for surround speakers. Understanding that I didn't shy away from purchasing expensive front speakers (also MartinLogans), and I do intend to get one of those high-end MartinLogan electrostatic center speakers (Stage or Motif), I'm having doubts about the real value of such expensive surrounds. But again, they do sound terrific - I'm completely satisified by the sound.

LooKs and Sounds Great
I bought the MartinLogan Motion FX Surround Speakers to round out a Yamaha Sound Bar system in my small living room (to make bring it a true 5.1 system). I didn't like any of the Yamaha options - so branched out to other brands. I have to admit that aesthetics played a big role in my choice - I wanted something that would look decent mounted on the wall by the sides of my couch (the curves look beautiful). I did a little research on the audiophile-wannabe boards and the speakers received good reviews. I am really happy with the MartinLogan Motion FX Surround Speakers - they sound amazing: smooth, refined sound with great dynamic range and clarity. I highly recommend them and will definitely buy MartinLogan speakers again.
Great sound, look, and size!
I purchased these speakers for rear surround sound along with electromotion cl2 (center) and ESL (front left & right). They sound great and work well with my living room space and look like 2 little clouds behind the coach. I chose these over the FX2 because they are little smaller and the FX2 's don't come in white. The make and sound of these speakers is what you would expect from Martinlogan. So happy with quality of sound I would consider even using them alone in small setup.

Outstanding
I went out on a limb and bought this product to go with my new samsung 52" HDTV. And it rocks! I originally was looking at doing high end individual pieces with speakers from fluance that everyone raves about, but since Im not an uber techie who reviews the likes of bose and hangs out in professional sound studios, this system more than does the job. Whats really great is the Anynet device feature that syncs up my tv to the home theater system. I also thought that having the rear speakers be towers would be better but Im quite pleased with the way I have my little guys arranged and they certyainly deliver good sound, even remotely.

The downside, not that it really matters, is that while you can sub in 16 gauge copper wire for the front 3 speakers, you have to use the supplied wires for the erars as they have specially designed adapters for the uplink box. Not a Bose but it does the job.
For the price I paid for this, I got my money's worth. It's no Bose, but it does a nice job with the Samsung LCD I have it running on. They recognize one another and the remotes will work for either. My chief grievance with this, is that there are not enough ports on the back side for all the devices that are out there. It is relatively simple to use, one note is that if you are watching TV or a movie, you will notice a delay (like the dubbed Kung Fu Movies), this setting is easy to adjust, but it is very noticeable at first. I am not sure if this was a mistake at the factory or if this is the factory setting, but it can be adjusted. Samsung has a lot of great FAQ's on their website instead of reading through the manual to figure out how to do something.
Good for the money
Bought it at an excellent price, way cheaper than the local electronic stores in town thanks to a sale at Amazon. Had it shipped for free and received within five days. The set up is simple and to the point. The manual could be improved. One note on the rear speakers; ensure you have the system set up for 5:1 or else the surround speakers (rear-wireless) will not work. This can be done at the set up screen by selecting Sound > Speakers. I have seen a few complaints on the rear speakers not working, and that could be one of the issues. My set up was a breeze and everything works as expected. The front speakers are really good looking and easy to assemble. The speaker wires provided are cheap, so be ready to buy new ones.

Pro's: HDMI Out (1), the picture on DVD's are very good and the sound is astonishing. If you have a Samsung TV with Anynet, the receiver and the TV will work in unison. Pretty cool feature to have, it will allow you to control the TV and the DVD with either...

The Martin Logan Motion 12 Floor-standing Speaker belongs to a family of products comprising Martin Logan's "Motion" line and is at the top tier of the Motion series. Spectacular speakers for the price
The first impression of these speakers came as I unpacked them. The packaging is excellent as it should be to provide the proper protection. So, no surprise, they were delivered in perfect condition. These speakers are beautiful to look at and come with very classy baffles that connect magnetically to hid the speaker cones. Connecting them was very easy since they come with high quality connections that make it easy to make solidly connect with a variety of different kinds of wire connectors.

These speakers really deliver whether you are listening to Rock and Roll or classical music. My listing choices ranged from ELP's first album to Debussy's La Mer. Both kinds of music, even though wildly different, sounded great. You get the necessary powerful crunch needed to appreciate rock music, and when listening to classical music they very nicely reproduce subtle musical nuances required to fully appreciate the piece. Good for music, better for home theater
I have been an audiophile for 35 years, building speakers and cooperating with manufacturers.

I bought the M 12 after I realized that the ML Motion 10 cannot be used as a front/stereo speaker if you have some expectations from the sound you are listening to. As soon as the double-boxed package containing the M 12 arrived, I set it up, and immediately noticed that the speakers I received - as opposed to the M 10s I had received 12 days before - may have been burnt in or simply represented a different category. The sound was as good as it gets from the technology employed in the speakers, but the bass actually deepened after burn-in, which upset the sound balance by my standards. Very nice for the price
I bought a pair of these for my front L and R along with the Polk CS-10 center (I also have a Polk sub). The sound is great! Those that said that they take a little breaking in were right. I've had them for a month or so now, and have given them some moderate use. Just last night while watching a DVD I noticed just how nice they sound. I will probably buy the OW3's for my rear L and R soon.

Best Bang for the Buck - Amazing Sound Little Speakers
listened to just about every speaker in this price range and bang for the buck these things took the cake. They sound better than mayny speakers costing much more (Bose did not even come close. Bose are great for the size, but lack midbass and their subs are not great). They have very clear high to upper mid range, but they are light on the lower mid and obviously the bass, which they are not designed for. I have them as my side seakers in a 7.1 system with a Denon 1911 receiver, TSI300 Rear, CS20 center, PSW 505 sub, and the tSI 500 fronts, and it sounds amazing. A couple of my firends that spend far more are very jellous, which is always nice. At first I was disapointed, but apparently they require a break in period and after playing them for a few days fairly regularily, they came around nicely. I am very happy with my purchase decision. As I said, you can get better speakers, but you will be paying far more.

Great sound from an easy-to-install speaker
For the last 7 years, we've had the entry-level Polk satellites+sub; but the placement of the front right & left speakers wasn't optimal since I basically had to hang them from the ceiling. I finally updated my receiver to a newer unit that supports HDMI and that gave me the itch to replace my speakers as well. This brought me back to the original problem that I faced in this room of how hard it is to fit good speakers.

Fortunately for me; I came across these and they fit into my space perfectly. I was able to mount the right speaker in the corner and the left speaker was mounted on the wall - both point into the room at a 45 degree angle. The design of these couldn't be better! They fit into the room better than the small 3.25" satellites did, yet they sound much richer and fuller. Great Network-Ready AV Receiver
I've owned this AV receiver for a couple weeks now and am quite happy with its performance. I opted to network it by connecting it via Cat6 cable to an 8-port Gigabit network switch, which is then connected to a universal WiFi adapter that is connected to the 5-GHz band on my dual-band WiFi router. I have been able to stream Pandora, Internet radio (vTuner), and audio/video via AirPlay from my MacBook Pro with iTunes without issue.

I can confirm that the user interface experience is a bit dull (e.g. grey, no on-screen keyboard, etc), but it functions well enough, so I can't complain. I have other devices (e.g. Roku 2) with better interfaces that I'll likely continue to do most of my streaming from. The HDMI overlay setup menu is an independent mode, but I'm not sure why others are finding that to be a fault as I would not want a video stream to be playing in the background while I was trying to read the white text of the setup menu and make changes.

Excellent Receiver
Okay so I received mine and have been using now for about 3 weeks. This unit is fantastic. Every feature it claims to support, it does in fact support. Sound from the unit is more crisp than other receivers I have used in the past (mainly Onkyo). I bundled it with a Polk audio RM510 5.1 speaker system for $450 on Newegg.com (a total steal considering the receiver itself is $400). It shows how to use the Pandora directly in the users manual, no internet searching necessary. I would hardly consider this an "incomplete product" because it has more features than I even bargained for, like midnight mode. Midnight mode is great if you live in a dorm/apartment and want all the dialogue loud in the movie but don't want the action scenes waking up your neighbors. If you are like me I used to watch movies late with the volume remote in my hand and constantly adjusted throughout the entire movie. Bottom line, this S. R. Lingala guy has no idea what he is talking about.
Very Satisfied Customer
I have had my Pioneer VSX-1122-K for about a week now, and I love it. My previous receiver was a Pioneer VSX - 1021-K, and I had allot of HDMI handshaking issue's as well as a few other bugs that were very frustrating. Given all the issues I encountered with my previous receiver, I was hesitant to get another Pioneer. I am happy to say that I have NO issues with the VSX-1122-K at all! The handshaking issues are gone, and I have NOT encountred any bugs. The overall quality of the VSX-1122-K seems to be far superior to that of the previous model year. The Airplay feature is awesome and makes listening to my favorite music easy and convenient. The 2012 Icontrol application for the Ipad is very cool and allows you to turn up the bass or dilague during movies and TV shows without having to change any settings on the actual receiver.
